Gameloft

War Planet Online

War Planet Online is the project I am currently working on as part of the Gameloft team. It is a 4X game in which players battle against each other for world domination. Forge alliances and rivalries, bolster your ranks, take control of real-world locations, and become the most powerful commander on the planet. The game is available for iOS, Android, Windows, and MacOS. 

  • Game Design – coming up with new mechanics and features, game balancing, play-testing, brainstorming, creating design documentation and mock-ups;
  • Technical Implementation – Implement new assets, behaviors, and other game components into the game;

Playwing

Instant War

Instant War was the project I was working on as part of the Playwing Ltd. team. It is a 4X game for mobile and PC with prominent social features. Engage in massive real-time battles, fortify your city, grow your armies, and become the most fearsome commander there is. The game is available for iOS, Android, and Windows. 

  • Game Design – coming up with new mechanics, game balancing, play-testing new features;
  • Live Ops – creating new events for players and balancing them;

Team Project

heirloom

Heirloom is a horror adventure game that does social commentary on some important topics like discrimination and prejudice. It follows the saga of Aadila, a young girl that got thrown into a labor camp and separated from her people just because she was born in an ethnic minority group. Now she must escape this nightmarish place and attempt to reunite with her family, while trying to not get corrupted by the cruel ways of the adults around her.
  • Game Design – coming up with mechanics, implementing visual cues to guide the player, creating the puzzles;
  • Level Design – creating layouts for both prototype levels in Blender and then implementing them in-engine (Unity), integrating the puzzles, setting up enemy encounters;
  • Narrative Design – created the narrative concept.
  • Team Leader – recruiting people for the project, distributing work, organizing testing sessions, organizing work sessions and coaching sessions;
  • Scrum Master – implementing Agile methods into the team’s workflow, keeping track of progress, splitting workload.

Team Project

Project e.d.e.n.

Project E.D.E.N. was a Virtual Reality product that my team and I had to develop for our clients. They were fed up with the lack of human interaction when using productivity software like Microsoft Teams and Zoom, so we decided to create a virtual environment in which they can hang out and have fun while working. Their biggest want was to have random encounters with colleagues (like meeting someone at the coffee machine), so we created a number of random tasks they would have to perform. This addressed their biggest wish while also providing them with a healthy mental break away from work. 

  • Game Design – coming up with mechanics, figuring out a way to recreate random interactions in a virtual environment.
  • Level Design – working on the main lobby concept.
  • 3D Artist – creating models for the Food Bar, Task Desk, Cubicles and foliage (trees and bushes).
  • Team Leader – distributing work, organizing testing sessions, organizing work sessions and coaching sessions.
  • Scrum Master – implementing Agile methods into the team’s workflow, keeping track of progress, splitting workload.
  • Client Contact – recording client “wants and needs” and converting them into feasible in-game systems.

Solo Project

Travelogue

Travelogue is a game that follows the story of a successful and egocentric artist that got drafted into the military during a global war. Leaving everything behind but his journal, he now documents his journey to the front through pictures and text. Meeting interesting people along the way makes him see the world in a different light, something that the horrors of war would soon change. Peek inside the mind of the artist and discover what terror truly does to the human soul.

This was a solo project the demo of which I developed. I was the level/ game designer, artist and  programmer (with some external help).
